The presentation will focus on the results of an analysis of options for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority to convert its fleet to “Zero Emission” or “Near-Zero Emission” buses. The analysis compared the costs and emission benefits of converting the entire 2,194 bus Metro transit fleet from conventional CNG buses to electric buses, fuel cell buses, or Low-NOx CNG buses operated on renewable natural gas.

Dana Lowell is the Technical Director of M.J. Bradley & Associates’ transportation group. Mr. Lowell has over 25 years’ experience working on issues of transportation and air quality, with a focus on clean technologies for heavy-duty vehicles. With MJB&A since 2004 Dana has developed and managed in-use emissions and fuel economy testing programs, and technology demonstration programs, for a range of on road and nonroad vehicle types. Previously Dana spent seven years as head of research & development for MTA New York City Transit’s bus department.
