Summary
This standard provides rail transit agencies with the baseline requirements for fatigue management programs (FMPs) in order to mitigate the impacts of fatigue on their operations and thereby improve the quality and safety of rail service. It also includes recommendations regarding the use of fatigue risk management systems. APTA recognizes that each rail transit agency has unique design and operating characteristics and that each rail transit agency will therefore have different titles and roles that its program would need to focus on.
